What kind of disasters can your backpacks be used for?

We looked at the most common scenarios you would likely face in NZ such a Earthquakes, Flooding, Tsunami, House Fires, Wildfires, Volcanoes, Cyclones, Tornadoes, Evacuations and Stay at Home orders and came up with a solution to aid each one. While the backpacks contain a lot of gear in them we made them lightweight and portable to be usable in more situations. The backpacks are designed to be a solid base that you can personalise with your own additions if you wish.

How much do the backpacks weigh?

Approximate weights:
1 Person with no rations - 5.3kg
1 person with rations - 5.8kg
2 Person with no rations - 5.6kg
2 person with rations - 6.4 kg
4 Person with no rations - 5.9kg
4 person with rations - 7.4kg

How long will the backpack last?

We have filled the backpacks with components that have a shelf life of a minimum 5 years if stored in a cool and dry environment (Except for the toothpaste which is 2 years). We offer a replenishment service where we will replace any expiring items with brand new items for a nominal fee. We will contact you prior to your 5 year purchase anniversary to discuss. If you need to replace anything sooner please contact us via email or livechat.

Where is Crisis Bunker located?

Crisis Bunker is owned and operated by Kiwi's located at 8 / 38 Ashley Place, Papamoa, Bay of Plenty, NZ.

Where do you deliver to?

We dispatch from our Papamoa Warehouse in the Bay of Plenty and deliver to all addresses across New Zealand including rural addresses via Courierpost. From the time the order is placed you can generally expect your order to be delivered within 5 working days, in many cases much faster. Your delivery may potentially be slightly longer if addressed to rural addresses and when there is excess strain on the courier network. We do not not ship outside of NZ.

Each Bar is 120g - Total of 2385kj

20 Year Shelf life from manufacture. We get our rations new from the manufacturer so these rations will have a shelf life till 2040 at least.

Ingredients: Wheat Flour 60%, vegetable oil (palm), sugar, glucose syrup, water, salt, raising agent: sodium carbonate, flavoring extracts

*Not Gluten Free

And most importantly they actually taste pretty good. Similar to a good old fashioned malt biscuit.

Cheaper than if you filled it yourself

The supplies were packed neatly and compactly without being squished. The components are of good quality. Nothing I could find that was skimped on. If you were to fill the backpack with the same items for 4 but sourced it yourself, you wont get it under $500 including buying the backpack separately. Super impressed with the backpack itself. Nice and light with ample space left to add some of your own items.

Comes with a great selection of items. The 40L waterproof dry bag is made of good quality and has the meshing on the back.
There is room to place extra items (important documents and dehydrated foods if needed).

A great start

Have just unpacked my backpack and was happy with the items inside. Most households would have these but to put their hands on them at a moment's notice would not be feasible especially in an emergency. I intend to add more dried food items, some spare clothing and other bits and pieces when I think of it.
